A private apartment on the western fronds of Palm Jumeirah. The architecture was already there, the floor-to-ceiling glazing, the cross-cut travertine floor, the fluted-stone terrace, our brief was to make it feel like home. We styled the apartment end to end: every sofa, lounge chair, lamp, credenza, artwork, ceramic, plant and styling object was chosen, sourced and placed by the studio, in a palette of sand linen and fumed oak that lets the western light do the rest.

Styled for the western hour
The apartment gets one long, generous golden hour, and we furnished it for exactly that. Sand-linen sectionals with the deepest seats, so the family settles low into the light; oxidised-brass table lamps placed where the sun no longer reaches by 6:30pm; cream-composite lounges anchoring the terrace so the view stays the subject. By twilight every object in the room is the colour of the sky outside.

The view is the only loud thing
With the Burj Al Arab visible from the sofa, there was no room for furniture that competes. The styling refuses contrast, no rich accents, no bold patterns, no statement pieces. A driftwood sculpture, a single plaster-relief artwork, a ceramic bowl, a bound book. Everything in the apartment exists to let the view be the loudest thing.

A short palette, repeated room to room
Sand linen for upholstery, fumed light oak for the credenzas and side tables, hand-troweled plaster for the wall reliefs, cream ceramic for the vessels, oxidised brass for the lamps. Five materials, repeated by intention across every room, so the eye reads the apartment as one continuous interior rather than a sequence of separately-styled vignettes.
